House received his medical degree in Internal Medicine from the Medical College of Georgia in 1967. His internship was at Memorial Medical Center. His pre-med degree was a Bachelor in Science in Biology in 1963 from North Georgia College.

Doctor House served in the United States Army for three years receiving additional medical training in trauma, GYN, internal medicine, and orthopedics.

Doctor House ran a private medical practice for 36 years in Winder, Georgia. He has experience in all aspects of medicine including inpatient, emergency room, outpatient, cardiology, XST, F/S, minor surgery, and laceration repair. 

Doctor House is married to Pam and they have 6 children. Doctor  House enjoys writing and golf.
